Polyurethane Gasket & Seal Material
Polyurethane is often interchangeably referred to simply as “urethane”. However, polyurethane does not contain, nor is produced from, ethyl carbamate. Polyurethane is often the material solution when the gasket or seal needs to be soft like rubber or hard like plastic but endure environments neither a rubber gasket or plastic gasket could survive. The material characteristics of polyurethane make it better resistant to abrasions, cuts, cracking, oil, grease, chemicals, high impact and heavy loads. It is virtually immune to ozone and oxygen. Applications for polyurethane gaskets and seals include wear pads, electrical equipment, machine mounts, vibration damping and shock absorption.
